Your financial inputs never leave your browser.
Expat Money Guide (expatmoneyguide.nl) is built around a simple principle: your financial details are yours. Every calculator on this site runs entirely inside your web browser — salary, savings, rent and mortgage figures are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Local processing only
Salaries, savings balances, rent, mortgage amounts, household composition and every other figure you type is processed in JavaScript on your own device. These values are never transmitted to our servers, because the calculations do not require a server at all.
Browser storage
So that your inputs survive a page reload, we save them in your browser's localStorage under keys such as emg_tax_calc_state, emg_theme and emg_last_viewed_calc. This storage is readable only by this website on your device. Clearing your browser data, or using the “Reset to defaults” button on a calculator, removes it immediately.
No selling or sharing of personal data
We do not sell, rent or share personal tax data with third parties. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not request your BSN, DigiD credentials or bank logins — no calculator here ever needs them.
Analytics and third parties
We may use privacy-friendly, aggregated traffic measurement to understand which pages are useful. Comparison cards may link to external providers; once you follow such a link, that provider's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data. Because we do not hold your calculator data, you exercise this right directly by clearing your browser storage. For any other question, contact us through the details on the About page.
