How We Make Money
Everything on Expat Money Guide is free to use. We keep it that way through affiliate partnerships: if you open an account with some of the banks, savings providers or brokers we compare, we may receive a referral fee at no extra cost to you. This page explains exactly what that does — and does not — change.
Affiliate relationships
Comparison pages mark every outbound link as either an affiliate partner link or a plain link. Affiliate links carry a sponsored attribute so search engines can see them too. Some providers we recommend pay us nothing at all; they are listed because they belong in the comparison.
No pay-for-placement
Providers cannot buy a position, a badge or a favourable write-up. Cards are ordered by the criterion stated on the page — headline rate, total annual cost or expected yield — and our rating criteria are published in the "How We Rate & Compare" box on each comparison page.
Your data stays in your browser
Our calculators run entirely on your device. Salary, savings, rent and mortgage figures are never sent to a server and never shared with a partner. Saved inputs live only in your browser's local storage, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Editorial policy
- Calculator logic follows official Belastingdienst, Nibud and SVB rules only.
- Rates and fees are checked on a stated date and re-verified when providers change them.
- Commercial partners never review content before publication.
- We correct errors quickly — if a figure looks wrong, tell us at hello@expatmoneyguide.nl.
